About us
Accountancy Insurance Services are specialists in the provision of insurance and risk management services for accountants in business and in practice.
The management team, including two Chartered Accountants, have a long track record of innovation in this area and building unique offerings based on detailed market research.
Accountancy Insurance Services was conceived in 1998 when the ICAEW appointed us for over 4 years to develop insurance services for their members.
Product innovation
In the case of our professional fees protection service, Tax Defence, research identified the need for a simple on-line direct service- backed with telephone helplines. This required innovation in how the product was distributed and use of online quotation systems. The product is suitable for all sizes of business and the ease of application and the price structure remove the previously identified barriers to purchase.
New methods of distribution remove certain costs and enable prices to be kept low. Tax Defence is one of many new insurance offerings being specifically designed by Accountancy Insurance Services for accountants.
Individual businesses can now buy this protection directly and clients of accountants can now get cover for their clients without the need for the firm to set up a scheme with a provider.
Technical Excellence
AIS believes that many accountants in business or in practice do not have available sufficient information about insurance. Insurance is a technical area and we have therefore prepared guides to various areas of specialist insurance, where little information is publicly available. In the case of Directors and Officers Insurance (D&O), we have prepared a Guide specifically for Non-executive directors and their advisers.

Being Chartered Accountants who specialise in insurance, makes us ideally placed to create unique risk management services for accountants.
Our knowledge of the credit insurance market led us to research the credit controls typical in UK companies and to recognise that businesses and their accountants could improve their profits and control their risks much better if they had the right tools.
Our Mastering Credit Control service, provides everything necessary for an accountant in industry or practice to control the risks that arise from trading on credit.
